Background: Nursing students must receive adequate training in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), which could allow them to acquire sufficient knowledge to solve the future SRH needs of everyone. In this study, the contents of the SRH subject in the undergraduate nursing curricula of 77 Spanish universities were examined to determine what SRH training nursing students are receiving. The introduction of sexual pedagogy in kindergarten and in schools usually brings about tensions and conflicts which are often caused by the fact that parents are not involved. Important for reconciling the conflicting views is knowledge about the values that sexual pedagogy fosters and the aims it pursues. This contribution shows that aims and fundamental principles of sexual pedagogy are compatible with the major part of approaches to sexual pedagogy from a theological view. After that, the relationship between sexual pedagogy and sexual ethics is analyzed.
